Ways of this world
(This is a translation of 194th poem of "Puranaanooru"(oril Neithal Karanga),an ancient Tamil Classic,of the sangam era,about 2000 years ago)
Loudly beats the funeral drum and
laments at one house.
Soft music surges from the wedlock drum
at another place.
The nuptial bride decks herself with
delightful ornamental flowers.
And the eyes of the bereaved
bemoan with tearful showers.
Verily, the Creator is of
unfeeling disposition.
Miserable, of course, are the
ways of this world.
Discern and discover in it
definite means to
sweetness unfold!

Thank you madam for posting the meaning of this beautiful poem "ஓரில் நெயதல் கறங்க ஓரில் இன்னிசை முழவின் பாணி ததும்ப......." which I read during my PUC class in the year 1970. I was searching for the full text of this poem in Tamil. Appreciate if you could post the poem in Tamil.

புணர்ந்தோர் பூவணி அணியப் பிரிந்தோர்
பைதல் உண் கண் பனிவார் புறைப்பப்
படைத்தோன் மன்ற அப்பண்பிலான்
இன்னாது அம்ம இவ்வுலகம்
இனிய காண்க அதன் இயல்புணர்ந்தோரே.
