TRIFLE OF A LIFE
With the hunt
for the
daily morsel
begins the
rat race.
Cock and bull stories
consume all the
crowding
hours.
Piqued and pained
at the
pettiness of others,
people pay them back
in coins of their
own.
Grey hair,the
gradual gift of growing years
glibly speaks on
gerontology.
Slowly but surely
this mortal
sheath is
shed.
Oh,Goddess Kali!
Like these queer folks,
will I ever
allow this
trifle of a life to
wither me away into
wastefulness?
